By Train
Although there is no direct train service to the Sepang International Circuit, travelling by train is a convenient option. Simply travel to KL Sentral, continue to KLIA via the airport rail link, then complete the final leg to the circuit by road.
Step 1: Travel to KL Sentral
From Penang, Ipoh & Northern Malaysia
Take the ETS (Electric Train Service) from your departure station to KL Sentral.
(Booking your ETS tickets in advance is recommended, especially during weekends and major events.)
From Johor Bahru
Take the ETS or an Intercity Train to KL Sentral.
Step 2: Take the KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit
From KL Sentral, board either:
- KLIA Ekspres – A non-stop service to KLIA (approximately 28 minutes).
- KLIA Transit – Stops at several stations en route to KLIA (approximately 35 minutes).
(Choose KLIA Ekspres for the fastest journey, or KLIA Transit if you’re travelling from intermediate stations.)
Step 3: Travel from KLIA to the Circuit
Once you arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the Sepang International Circuit is approximately 15 minutes away.
You can reach the circuit by:
- Taxi
- Grab
- Shuttle bus (during selected major events)
(There is currently no direct train connection to the Sepang International Circuit, so the final leg of the journey must be completed by road.)
Travel Tips
- Allow extra travel time on race weekends, as trains and airport transport services may be busier than usual.
- If you’re travelling with luggage or a group, Grab or taxi services offer the most convenient transfer from KLIA to the circuit.
- Purchase your train tickets in advance during peak travel periods to secure your preferred departure time.
